Glynis Olgado

Chairwoman

Glynis’s fascination with aviation stemmed from her mother who was a flight attendant for Saudi Arabian Airlines. From a young age she always thought flying was the most fun way to travel. After graduating from University of Nevada Las Vegas with a B.S. in Hotel Administration, she started working as a hotel concierge on the Las Vegas Strip. It was during this time when she really discovered her passion for flying. She would help guests book exciting tour flights to the Grand Canyon. Later, an opportunity would come up for her to experience these flights. She was instantly intrigued.

Fellow 99, Toni Mattei, was the captain of that flight. She guided Glynis as she started her aviation journey and quickly became a trusted mentor and close friend. Glynis became the first pilot in her family!

She is now a First Officer at a popular tour company flying over the beautiful Grand Canyon daily. She is also a dedicated flight instructor out of Boulder City Airport and North Las Vegas Airport. Besides flying, she enjoys riding ATVs and dune buggies in the desert, spending time with her niece and nephew, playing with her cats, and hanging out with close friends. She is also a trained dancer and plays the piano and drums.

Lauren Scott

Vice Chair

& Membership Chair

Lauren is a 2nd generation pilot, following after her late airline pilot dad and his sister, who was a pioneer American woman pilot in the 1920s and 30s, and one of the original 99s. Lauren soloed in a Piper J-3 Cub at 17 years old and later graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Aviation Technology-Professional Pilot degree, with a CFI and turbojet flight engineer rating. She had the amazing opportunity to represent Purdue in the Air Race Classic women’s transcontinental air race 2 years in a row. She took a long break from flying to focus on raising 3 children with her husband, Kevin, who is also a private pilot. Since she started flying again, she taught her daughter and other students to fly, earned her ASES and CFII, and recently became a Designated Pilot Examiner. Lauren is the recipient of a LIFT scholarship and 99s Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship, and loves to share the gift of aviation with her students and pilot applicants. She also flies PC-12's for AirSmart, serves as a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight West, and is a member of Women in Aviation. When she’s not flying she enjoys traveling with her family, hiking, running with her dogs, and reading.

Clara Freeze

Secretary

Hello all! My name is Clara Freeze. I’m originally from Raleigh, NC and moved to Las Vegas in 2016. By day, I’m a Rotorcraft CFI, Fixed Wing Private Pilot, and AGI/IGI…by night, a Lighting Technician for Cirque Du Soleil. I started flying airplanes in 2016 as a fun challenge from a coworker. I ended up discovering and loving helicopters as well along the way. My goal is to be a dual-rated CFI. I’m not sure yet where that will lead, but I’m enjoying the journey!

In my free time, I love spending time with my husband and mini schnauzer, running, and experiencing the many delicious bars/restaurants here in Vegas. I am excited to serve as secretary for this chapter of amazing women pilots!

Saundra Zimmerman

Event Coordinator

My name is Saundra Zimmerman. I have been in aviation as a corporate flight attendant for the last 19 years. About 5 years ago I decided that learning to fly would be fun. I received my PPL, bought my own airplane and enjoy flying around for fun. My favorite kind of flying would be back country landing on grass strips and camping next to my plane. I enjoy sharing my passion of aviation with others.

Avalon Hobson

Social Media Director

I have wanted to fly planes since I was four years old. I started training in 2012 and became the Manager of a local flight school in 2015 where I finished all my ratings. In between my pilot training, I also attended Aviation Institute of Maintenance where I received my Airframe & Powerplant certificate in 2017. In 2021, I earned a position at AirSmart Aviation flying Pilatus PC-12's and PC-24's while working part time on the side as a mechanic. And as of 2023, I currently work as a First Officer at Cirrus Aviation flying Challenger 604's and I am loving my life.

On my free time, I am attending online college at UNA for a double major in Spanish and History. I also enjoy mountain biking, hiking, crocheting/knitting, reading, and being a part of the wonderful Las Vegas Chapter of the 99s.

Stephanie White

Event Coordinator

My name is Stephanie White, and I’m a Las Vegas native, Allegiant A320 First Officer, and Cirrus Training Center Instructor at All In Aviation. I started flying at 17 when my dad took me on a discovery flight and have been hooked ever since. I love sharing my passion for aviation through teaching, and have earned a Gold Seal on my CFI, taught aviation college classes at CSN, and have 1,500 hours of dual-given. I hope to continue on this path and eventually become an Airbus training instructor at Allegiant. My ultimate goal is to fly wide body jets around the globe someday. Aside from The 99s, I am also involved in the NGPA, PAPA, and WAI. In my free time, I hang out with my  golden retriever named Travis, jam to late 90s/early 2000s pop punk, and do anything and everything I can outdoors (snowboarding, rock climbing, cycling).

Yuliya Mccombie

Fundraising Chair & Mentorship Coordinator

I was born and raised in the Former USSR, where my love for aviation began. At that time, becoming a female pilot was not a real possibility, so I dreamed of being a flight attendant just to stay close to airplanes.

After moving to the United States, life took a different direction. I became a military wife, raised my daughter, and built a career in finance, but the sky never stopped calling me. To learn more, I worked as a ramp agent at a local airport, absorbing every detail and staying close to the world I loved.

I eventually became a flight attendant, but the desire to fly never left me. In fact, it only became stronger. So I enrolled in flight school, worked through every challenge in front of me, and earned my certificates through persistence and discipline. Since then, I have worked as a CFI/CFII, managed a Part 141 training program, and flown as an SIC for a Part 135 operation. These experiences shaped me into the pilot I am today, and I am grateful for every step.

Mentoring has become a very important part of my journey. I take pride in guiding new aviators, especially women, and helping them build confidence in a field that once felt impossible for someone like me.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, and spoiling my grandbabies. I also love trying new foods and watching movies, especially the very cheesy ones.
